We had posted some questions to Vinod as a part of his #ATAMyStory

1. Why should someone choose testing as a career? Or What does testing really mean to you?

With Digital and new age automation needs for Agile, DevOps and IOT testing has become more important than ever to deliver a quality product with memorable user experience. Testing provides you in-depth functional as well as technical knowledge of a product and business and thus provides a holistic picture which one can leverage to become a key SME down the line. Hence I believe this is a good time to start a career in testing, negotiate the steep learning curve and be successful.

2. While practice makes all of us perfect, share an everyday practice that has made things better for you at work

‘Attention to detail’ has made an immense impact in delivering quality outputs in whatever assignments I take up. I strive hard to give my best at work with keen focus on minute details with overall picture in mind.

3. The most challenging bug or issue that I have found and learnings from it? Or The most challenging testing task that I have done and how I accomplished the same

The biggest challenge that I have come across is ‘People Transformation’. While transformation of processes, technology hasn’t been a great challenge but transforming resources from QA to QE takes time and is challenging. I have overcome this through well planned innovating training approaches, providing the bigger picture and constantly motivating the team to acquire new skills continuously.
