We had posted some questions to Deepika as a part of his #ATAMyStory
1. Why should someone choose testing as a career? Or what does testing really mean to you?
Testing help in releasing a quality product to the market. For finding bugs which are hidden in the software, Testers need to know all parts of the application which they are going to test. So we need to discuss with clients too to get more information on domain knowledge. This way we acquire knowledge and can become Subject Matter Experts as well.
2. While practice makes all of us perfect, share an everyday practice that has made things better for you at work
As a Software tester involving in the Requirement analysis discussions would help understand the product better and come up with the efficient testing plan. It would also ensure to detect requirement gaps and defects at early stage and prevent defects leakage. In Agile testing you should always be in Deliver mode.
3. The most challenging bug or issue that I have found and learnings from it ? Or The most challenging testing task that I have done and how I accomplished the same
While working with one of the projects in Banking and Financial Services domain, encountered a bug during System Integration testing phase which affected in one of the modules. It impacted multiple modules associated with it. So we prepared a set of regression test scenarios for this issue involving test cases from impacted modules. So when the Bug is fixed and retested, we ensured that this did not break the existing functionality by running the regression suite and ensured clean fix.
